Dear brothers and sisters,

How many have had an encounter with Jesus and have experienced that deep joy and peace with God, but when everyday life would come with its particular hardships and associated discouragement, one would declare, “I can't manage to live as a Christian the way I should!” At this point, many would give up. But this is exactly where the secret of victory in Christ lies. Jesus in me brings about what I cannot do on my own. God himself wants to bring me to the goal. I can tell Jesus all the negative things that discourage me - but I am confident, because with God nothing is impossible.  He brings me to the goal. 

• WORLDWIDE: 

From 22nd March until 21st of April 2023 (the ninth month of the Islamic Hijri calendar), Muslims all over the world will be observing Ramadan, the month of the “Saum” ritual (Islamic fasting). This ritual is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. During the hours of Saum, Muslims are obligated to refrain from food and drink and other things from dawn to sunset, hoping to devoting themselves to a form of piety and obedience.

From the observations of many followers of Christ, many Muslims have had special dreams about Jesus during Ramadan. Since 1993 there had been a ministry called “30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World” inviting Christians all around the world to pray for Muslim peoples during Ramadan. CM has contributed to this year’s prayer guide again and we want to invite you to join the movement! You can get the prayer guide in 40+ languages and there is even a booklet for kids!

• SYRIA/TURKEY:

After the massive earthquake in February, many people are mourning the deaths of their loved ones while facing shortages of food, water, tents, and other minimal necessities. Our partner organizations and churches are currently distributing relief supplies and doing their best to serve the survivors. Reports from our local leaders about these efforts and expressions of specific needs are coming in every few days. Please pray for the churches in the region, that they may be able to help effectively, wisely and without hinderance by the district governments. Pray that our brothers and sisters might find healing and comfort while mourning for friends and family members that they lost during this catastrophe. Pray that they may shine Jesus‘ light and love to the people around them so that in the midst of what has happened, the people may be turned to Jesus.

The leader of CM in Turkey shared an encouraging story while walking among the heaps in Maraş, whereby he detected the presence of a page under the rubble that caught his eye. It was a page torn out of a Bible. On it was the passage of 2 Corinthians 1 and 2.  Read on our website what he writes about how this passage spoke to him about the churches in Turkey in present and future.

• SOMALIA/SOMALILAND: 

As mentioned in a previous prayer bulletin, some of our brothers and sisters in Somalia and Somaliland are suffering in prison because of their faith in Jesus. Please continue praying for them while they are facing enormous amount of pressure and persecution. Please pray for their emotional and spiritual health to be protected and that they may find excellent lawyers and support for their court cases.
