The World Council of Churches (WCC) has expressed its profound sorrow and deep concern over the demolition of the historic Evangelical Church in Mashhad, Iran.

There are also reports of increasing pressure on the Evangelical Church of Iran and its institutions.

The Iranian government is planning to seize St. Peter Evangelical, the oldest Protestant church in Iran.

The government is actively threatening the church leadership and members, showing no regard for international outcry.
