Faith Blossoming Among the Baloch
In a remote Baloch community where the Gospel had never been proclaimed, the light of Christ has begun to shine. Through the ministry of I B I C, I am Christian, I am Baloch, three entire Baloch families have come to faith in the Lord Jesus.
A New Generation of Believers
For the first time in history, we see the younger generation of Baloch—bright young people between the ages of 12 and 18—able to read the Scriptures, allowing us to reach them. The situation is different for the elderly. Ten brothers and sisters (four men and six women) have never been to school and cannot read. Yet, their hunger for the Word of God is no less deep.
Overcoming Challenges
One of them, Brother Abdelmaseeh Baloch, is 74 years old. A respected elder in the community, he can read both Urdu and Balochi, but like many who never grew up with the Bible, he struggles to locate passages during study. In our Bible classes, we noticed his desire to participate fully. So, the Lord gave us a simple solution: we began to take screenshots from the pages of the Bible, marking the exact verses, and sending them to him through WhatsApp.
The Impact of the Living Word
When those messages arrive, Brother Abdelmaseeh carefully studies them. Then, in a humble gathering of Balooch believers—often in a simple home—he stands to read aloud the living Word of God. His voice, weathered by age yet strong with conviction, carries the message to men, women, and young people who listen with eyes wide open and hearts thirsty for truth.
A Testimony of God's Power
To see new believers—only recently introduced to Christ—taking these bold steps to grow in faith is a testimony of God’s power. In human eyes, such things might seem impossible. How could families in a region with no Christian witness suddenly come to follow the Lord? How could the Gospel take root in a people long untouched by it?
Using Modern Tools for the Great Commission
God has provided us with platforms such as social media to use in the Great Commission. Our awesome God is the one who makes the impossible possible. Through media ministries, Scripture is reaching hearts that the world might overlook. We are thrilled that this is happening among the Balooch people, and we are even more thrilled to see that these people are growing in Christ and becoming fishers of men, sharing the gospel with others.
Call to Prayer
Please continue to pray for these families, for Brother Abdelmaseeh, and for the small but growing congregation of Balooch believers—that their faith would be strengthened, their witness bold, and their love for Jesus unshakable.
